Randy currently lives in Aztec, NM. He heard about Mission of Mercy on the local radio. Randy has not seen a dentist since 1971. When Randy was in the Marine Core it took four trips to his Navy Dentist to get one root canal. Needless to say, Randy told Danielle, he has felt pretty jaded by this negative dental experience.

Randy and his friend drove an RV 40 miles from Aztec to Farmington on Tuesday afternoon to “get a good parking spot”. Randy then drove 40 miles back and forth from Farmington to Aztec (where he works on a farm) before Mission of Mercy even started. At 5 a.m. on Friday September 13th, Mission of Mercy opened its doors. By 9:00 a.m. Randy had yet to get in line.

Randy currently only has one working tooth. He can hardly eat, and said he was embarrassed to eat in public. It has been 5 years since Randy has eaten in public. “Sometimes I go four days without eating anything. You just get used to it after a while. Don’t take a bite, you don’t have to worry about it. But, I sure would like to eat a steak.” Randy also expressed that even if he did have dental coverage, he wouldn’t know where to go to find a dentist.
