SNAP Changes
In 2025, the federal government changed the eligibility criteria for SNAP benefits. Now, fewer people qualify for SNAP, and if you do qualify you must comply with work requirements- to keep your SNAP benefits, you now need to work, volunteer, or attend school for a minimum of 80 hours a month.
Health Action believes that every New Mexican deserves food regardless of their ability to work. We know this additional burden in itself will cause many to lose their benefits, but thousands will also lose SNAP just because they are not aware of the new requirements.
SNAP Action can help with both of these issues - you’ll be spreading the word about the requirements while also getting the volunteer hours to be in compliance yourself.
You can help us keep families from going hungry, including your own.
