The snowpack season is ending in the Colorado River Basin as the spring melt is underway. If we take stock of the water supply over this vast basin, a critical resource for millions of people in the West, the news is not good. Drought means increase risk for large wildfires, reduced food supply and less water for municipal water supplies.
